Trail to Eagle Scout Rank

Troop 4 Scarsdale, NY builds young men of character by following the long-tested ways of Scouting.  Our young men get lots of helping hands from all the Scouts in the Troop.  We learn from one another and are friendly as we follow the trail to Eagle. The leadership of our Scout Master Mr. Kevin McCarthy and several adult Assistant Scout Masters gives us the guidance that is essential to Scouting. Parents are actively involved in supporting the Troop. In addition to weekly troop meetings, typical events throughout the year include  campouts (including Camping on the Scarsdale Green -- a Memorial Day weekend tradition), a Klondike competition using snowsleds we build, regional educational and historic trips, high-adventure trips (including sailing off the Florida Keys, hiking out west, and canoeing in the Northern Tier).  We are also camp the first week of July at Camp Read in the Adirondacks, where the scouts become proficient in activities such as horseback riding, sailing, and target shooting. The picture at the right is our campsite from 2013 the morning we left Camp Read.  You can see we left "no trace behind", our way of saying that we leave an environment as clearn (or better) than we found it when we arrived.    We are open to showing what we do if you are interested in Scouting.  Use the Contact Us link on the menu to the left to schedule a meeting.
